Is it ethically acceptable to read email of deceased person?

Q. My best friend of mine has just passed away and I would like to log in into his email & facebook account in case he left some notes or messages there. I know his password because he always use the same password for every account. But is it acceptable to do that?

A. Legally and ethically the answer is NO...

The executor of the estate is now the person who has that right. He/She acts in the capacity of the deceased in order to clean up and close his affairs as well as notify everyone of his passing.

You should contact that person and either get permission or ask him if there were any last messages left for you.

Can someone access my email on my smartphone when my sim card is blocked?
Q. Someone recently stole my smartphone while I was overseas. I called my mobile provider to block my sim card, but I'm afraid that the thief can still access some of my personal information such as my email, facebook and whatsapp should they connect to wifi. Can they do that? And is there anything else I ought to do?

A. Yeah, the thief can do it.If you access your emails,fb etc from the the applications(I mean Facebook application, gmail or something application) and you sign in there automatically without entering the password, then he can still access them. But he cannot change the password if the sim is blocked. So one thing you can do is to change the passwords of them.

How can my band make a facebook music page?
Q. I can only set up a public figure profile, not a musician page. I emailed facebook and they replied with a link - which had me set up a public figure profile, NOT a musician page. I work with AUDRA HARDT, who has tons of music online (itunes, amazon) and an account and profile on iLIKE - which is a facebook application. Please help!

A. Facebook is not like MySpace ... you can't set your profile on a Musician mode... However, you can make a a public profile on Facebook and then create a Page and a Group on Facebook but you have to sign up first..
