What consequences could you face if you made a false police report that got someone convicted for 15 years?

Q. About 6 years ago a guy I was dating wanted to break up with me so I told the police he pulled a knife on me and raped me. He got sentenced to 15 years in jail lol. But 6 years later evidence proved he was innocent, what consequences could happen to me for doing this?

A. Thanks, I screen printed this for use in an article on false allegations of abuse against men.

For 22 years, I have volunteered my time working with divorced/single fathers dealing in family law issues, such as child support, teaching them about what the states are not telling support obligors.

My sister got a restraining order put against her in a differnet town then where she is from?
Q. Her ex-boyfriend put one against her I think just for spite. He is from a small town where everybody knows him. My question is can she have the court hearing moved from that town to a different town because it would be in her best interest. Also they have children together and he is suing for custody. Any help would be appreciated.

A. First, the only way he could get a restraining order is some place where they know him as it is nearly impossible for male victims to get them, while women can get them with no abuse actually taking place. All they need is a "fear of abuse". As for the hearing, not she cannot. The hearing will take place there. There is no benefit to the court to rule in his favor as the federal government is restricted under the VAWA from providing funding for any court or organization that provides help to the 39% of domestic violence victims who are male. Ruling in his favor means a lost of the money they would get if it was a female victim.

Did you know about the Muslim Youth Helpline site?
Q. Bit old for them myself but I did not know that there were sites offering services to muslim youth:

http://www.myh.org.uk/about_us - muslim youth helpline

http://www.muslimyouth.net/ - muslim youth

Thought it might be useful for some of our younger brothers and sisters. They have facebook groups as well.

A. If they have knowledgable people there who can give sound islamic advice that is very awesome. Mashallah! We need more things like these. If only you knew how many muslim youths are suffering from their backward strict culture of their parents up to the threat of honour killings. May Allah help all muslims
Salaam
