How much does it cost for facebook mobile?

Q. I have Verizon and unlimited texting. How much would it cost for facebook mobile? Like, uploading pictures from your phone and updating your status from your phone.

A. As long as you have unlimited texting, and you pay for internet on your phone, facebook mobile is essentially free.

It's just whatever your carrier charges. If texts cost 10 cents a texts..facebook mobile will charge you 10 cents a text.

If you're paying $20 a month for your internet, that number doesn't go up.
If you're paying per browser page, you will still get charged the same amount.

Why does facebook mobile take forever somedays to send you the messages to your phone?
Q. Ok i use facebook mobile so i don't have to continuously go online to check my messages. But somedays it won't work and I don't receive the messages until the next day. It's really frustrating when your talking to someone that lives out of town and you don't have long distance. Can any one answer my question please

A. There are two possible reasons:

1) Facebook's mobile servers (the ones in charge of sending the text message) are experience some delay time

2) Your phone provider is slow to receive the messages and/or send them to your account.

To determine which is at fault, you can do a quick test. Ask someone from another phone to send a text message to your phone. If it arrives relatively quick (less than 5 mins) it is facebook's "fault". In that case You will have to contact facebook and ask them about this issue.

If it takes a long time for you to receive it then it is your phone provider's fault. In that case you should contact them directly and ask them about this issue.

I have had no issues with using facebook mobile so far.

How do you send messages to friends on facebook via facebook mobile text ?
Q. I have facebook mobile text and it works perfectly. I am able to update my status, poke people, but i cant message people. I have tried texting "msg (my friends full name) and a message but i get a text back that says "sorry this command is no longer supported" and its confusing cause i know people who have done this before. so i dont know if im doing it wrong or what ? do i need to type something else in ? how can i fix this ?

A. Log into your Facebook account on your computer to activate Facebook Mobile. Click the "Account" menu in the upper-right corner of the page and select "Account Settings" from the drop-down menu. Click the "Mobile" tab in the left column. Click "Add a Phone." You'll be prompted to enter your Facebook password before proceeding.
2

Select your country and your mobile carrier from the drop-down menus. Add your phone number where indicated. Facebook sends a text message to your phone with an activation code. Enter the code in the box provided to complete the signup process.
3

Check the box next to "Activate Facebook Text Messages" and click "Submit." Update your status from your cellphone by texting your update to 32665 (FBOOK). The status update appears on your profile exactly as you type it on the phone.
4

Return to "Account Settings." Select "Notifications" from the left side of the page. Select "Facebook" next to "All Notifications" to expand the menu. Place a check mark under the "Text notifications" icon (a mobile phone) for each category of message or contact you want forwarded to your cellphone. Click "Save Changes" when finished. Repeat with any of the other categories that you wish to have forwarded to your phone.
