Where is a good resource to learn how to make Facebook applications?

Q. I am creating facebook applications for some great networking ideas i have and i need a good resource in order to leanr how to create them. help!

A. Use the developer site. Look at their documentation. You have to know how to use a server scripting language (like PHP or ASP). If you don't know how to use any, you'll have to learn one of those first (I think PHP is the best for facebook apps). Check out www.w3schools.com for some good quick tutorials on those. Then use the tutorials on the developer app pages. If you have any questions about the facebook api, use the discussion board on the developer app (you have added the Developer app to your Applications right?) and ask the people on there. It might take a while for a good answer, but those people are using it, so they're your best bet for a good answer.

Q. Is there a good tutorial on how to make Facebook Application? I just thought it might be something fun to learn.

A. hey i tried to do the same. it REALLY hard! you have to join facebook developers, there you will find sample apps and tutorials. you can join them, by scrolling down to the very bottom of any application, and clicking on the "developers" link, found in between the :advertising" and "terms" links. OR you can just click on the link i put under :sources" :)

How do you display 'Total Users' on a Facebook Application home page?

Q. This question is more for app developers. I understand that facebook changed applications to display 'total active users' instead for application ranking in directory.

A. i wish i could help, but i can't.
